An auspicious 1 year anniversary later, this week has been the most telling week of the demise of the “conservative” movement since November 4th, 2008.
First, we can look to Sarah!?!?! for touching off, just as she did in 2008, the unparalleled level of media frenzy (this time in the NY 23rd race) that could only end in conservative tragedy.
When Sarah?!?!? joined the 2008 fray of national conservative politics, the conservative neural networks blazed! Unfortunately, the ensuing mental activity of conservative culture discovered it was enthralled with an invigoration – a stimulus – that was anything but capable of holding the national attention beyond the 2 minutes it took to discover Sarah’s?!?! literacy levels…Said America to Sarah??!!?? (in the words of Kevin Nealon) “Suddenly!….Disinterested.”
As Sarah??? brought her vast book-deal…er…political influence, to “bare” this week, in NY’s 23rd, the truth was revealed once more in the election of the Democrat, Bill Owens. Somehow, Sarah’s??? calling to create Conservatism TNG, is not quite passing the SAT’s of the Intelligent Designer. Apparently, conservative love affairs may embark upon, but are not allowed to leave, the Appalachian trail this year.
Meanwhile, in a somewhat unexpected moment of turning-to-dust, the House GOP stood firmly together behind their most radical, perhaps mostly insane, member who, apparently fighting health care, the public option, or really anything that would “energize” “the base”, invoked a revolutionary, “whites of their eyes” press conference, bolstered by fringe sign-makers bussed in from parts unknown on the FreedomWorks dime. Quoting from the extended press speakers, who showed up to Representative Bachman’s conference toting images that included mass-graves filled with emaciated bodies, “[2009 Healthcare Reform legislation is just like] ‘National Socialist Healthcare’ Dachau Germany – 1945″:

In truth, the term “hyperbole” must be cast aside in this case. Each of the members of Congress, and their extended press staff, who showed up to Thursday’s conference must be congratulated on demonstrating the true Dantesian potential-depth of American free speech. Though fraudulent and arguably treasonous, upon reviewing the video, in their lackluster and disingenuous performance, it is unfortunately unclear whether Bachman, Boehner, and their ilk have reserved the 8th or 9th level of Hell for themselves.
What remains clear is that no one in the official conservative leadership, or overall movement for that matter, is poised to rediscover the alchemy of political gold…no matter what gem of political wisdom is “on your mind” right now, $arah.
