Very few people realized it, but over the Christmas break GOP mastermind Karl “Turd Blossom” Rove’s divorce from his second wife was finalized. Of course, he is asking for his “privacy to be repsected,” which is ironic coming from a strategist who helped orchestrate the multiple gay marriage referenda showing up on voters’ ballots in 2004 to help generate conservative voter turnout.

In the meantime, there is much speculation about why such a proponent of the ’sanctity of marriage’ would be getting divorced anyway. Some have suggested that Rove ended his martial responsibilities so that he could pursue a relationship with former “reporter”/ ex-male prostitute Jeff Gannon, who somehow received press passes into the George W. Bush White House press briefings for two years, and was called-upon very often by the Bush administration press people.

It sure would be nice if Mr. Rove got in front of this story. It would be horrible if a whisper campaign were to tarnish his reputation….
