Bush’s speechwriter continues to fabricate

Mark Theissen, Former Bush Speechwriter, and author of the recent book, “Courting Disaster: How CIA Kept America Safe and How Barack Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack”, actually has the mental capacity to go on Morning Joe and say that “if torture programs were in place before the attacks on 9/11 we would have known about Al Qaeda and would have stopped them.” Seriously…

Needless to say, Lawrence O’Donnel was co-hosting and of course tore him a new asshole. And who wouldn’t!?

Scott Brown takes off Levi, reveals Johnson

by Jsmog
Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 10:51am Juneau Smog Blog Post Permalink Blog Post Trackback Read/Leave Comments Juneau Smog Twitter Retweet Scott Brown takes off Levi, reveals Johnson

Scott Brown Centerfold

a principled, common sense, Strong, HARD conservative

Remember when Levi Johnson posed naked in Playgirl? Yeah, most people didn’t care either. But uppity conservatives thought this might actually be the apocalypse. There was all this big hubabaloo as to whether Levi was going to go Full Monty or not reveal the real “Johnson”. He eventually went with the latter by covering his extreme private parts with a hand towel. However, this didn’t stop Palin from saying about the father of her grandson, that Levi was taking a “heartbreaking” venture into “porn” on Oprah.

Never the less, while Palin has been traveling the country embarrassing herself elsewhere she has weighed in on a few of the upcoming elections as well, saying this about MA Senatorial Republican candidate Scott Brown, that he has “you know, common sense conservative values, principles, solutions, being plugged in to meet the challenges facing America today.” Because obviously someone who poses nude in a Centerfold (without even a hand towel) demonstrates, what is it again, “conservative values, principles, solutions, being plugged in to meet the challenges facing America today.” Or maybe Levi is taking a venture into porn because of the magazine in which he chose to pose in, which was no Cosmo like Brown’s pictorial. And who knows, since Brown’s expose was during the 80s, maybe Levi will make a great Republican Senatorial candidate in 20 years. Hmmm, Levi doesn’t seem to have quite as good a grasp on hypocrisy yet, like all principled common sense Republicans do.

Take the poll : Is A.) the nude photo of Levi Johnson the porn and the nude photo of Scott Brown the common sense conservative, B.) the nude photo of Scott Brown the porn and the nude photo of Levi Johnson the common sense conservative, or C.) Sarah Palin is a hypocrite?

What, you can’t find a different hat!?

McCain/Palin visor at the beach

McCain/Palin visor at the beach

My god, this lady is so dumb. Is there a bigger idiot than Sarah Palin? While in Hawaii with her family she decided to go “incognito” by putting on a “visor”, that way nobody would recognize her with a flap over her forehead and a band around her head, much in the same way that when Superman puts on a pair of glasses he is mysteriously no longer Superman but now Clark Kent instead, or when Zoro dawns an eye mask he’s instantly unrecognizable. However, since the RNC hasn’t been buying Palin any new clothes in over a year, all she had were these old “McCain/Palin” visors left over from the campaign. Except wearing a visor that said “McCain/Palin” would obviously ruin the whole being “incognito” for those who already recognize her, because wearing a visor in the first place is such a dumb disguise. Solution? Palin decided, in her infinite wisdom that’s being reserved for when she presides over the most powerful nation in the world, and with the fact that nobody in Hawaii sells any other kind of hat, the best option would be to take a sharpie and black out the words “McCain/Palin” on the visor. Now nobody will know it’s her! Well, except TMZ who took pictures of her in her silly blotted out campaign visor.

Reagan In Name Only

GOP says No to Reagan

GOP says No to Reagan

This is too much. OMG! The Republicans are now trying to get Ronald Reagan kicked out of the party by invoking his name even! So frickin hilarious. Not only would Abraham Lincoln have been long booted from the party awhile ago, but now they’re trying to kick their hero, Ronald Reagan out on his ass.

Conservative RNC member James Bopp Jr. is circulating a draft resolution listing 10 positions Republican candidates should support if they wish to have party backing. The resolution calls on the Republican National Committee to end funding and endorsements for any candidate who deviates from three or more of the positions. RNC chairman Michael Steele will now have to choose a side between those who would expand the party ideologically and those more concerned with conservative purity at the next RNC meeting in January.

2010 Positioning

You Betcha! Also!

You Betcha! Also!

The best conservatives can do to present the Obama administration as somehow failing, is from the pressures of the jobs situation, double digit unemployment, and the health care debate, which has droned on for nearly a year, and a final bill that will probably be so watered you can drop it on the California wildfires. Not withstanding, Barack Obama’s numbers have been essentially unchanged for three months now even under those circumstances. However, should Congressional Democrats be panicking right about now? It’s too early. Should they be nervous? Maybe.

Wannabe Terrorists

by Jsmog
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 01:23am Juneau Smog Blog Post Permalink Blog Post Trackback Read/Leave Comments Juneau Smog Twitter Retweet Wannabe Terrorists

Conservatives would love to paint the Fort Hood shooting as a “terrorist attack”, and thus a “terrorist attack” on US soil while on Obama’s watch. However, the Fort Hood shooting can’t qualify as a terrorist attack. For one, the gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, acted alone. This wasn’t a coordinated effort by some organization. He picked up his rifle and open fired. And that leads to two, there is no target to go after in retaliation to, of course, justify the “War on Terror“, because he indeed acted alone. There is no country to go after, terrorist cell nor militia group.

Fox News Made Their Bed, Now Sleep In It

What the Fox!?

What the Fox!?

I don’t think there is anything more hallow than listening to Fox News cry about the White House claiming they aren’t a real news agency. Three weeks ago White House Communications Director Anita Dunn appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources and said:

“The reality of it is that Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party. And it is not ideological… what I think is fair to say about Fox, and the way we view it, is that it is more of a wing of the Republican Party.”

“Obviously [the President] will go on Fox because he engages with ideological opponents. He has done that before and he will do it again… when he goes on Fox he understands he is not going on it as a news network at this point. He is going on it to debate the opposition.”

“[Fox is] widely viewed as a part of the Republican Party: take their talking points and put them on the air, take their opposition research and put it on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news organization like CNN is.”

Is the Recession Over?

by Jsmog
Friday, October 30, 2009 at 01:07pm Juneau Smog Blog Post Permalink Blog Post Trackback Read/Leave Comments Juneau Smog Twitter Retweet Is the Recession Over?

Recession is a bad word

Recession is a bad word

The White House is claiming today that it is. While things may still look glum in some areas of the economic mess, recent reports show that the Economy is indeed turning around.

The White House is reporting at recovery.gov that the $150 billion in grants and loans made so far under the economic stimulus package have created or saved about 650,000 jobs. That is quite a number, and almost accounts for the nearly 700,000 jobs lost back in March, right before the stimulus kicked in. These first reports do not yet include the stimulus package’s tax cuts, safety net spending, and fiscal aid to strapped states, which the white house says could put the job created or saved numbers over a million, putting it on track to reach 3.5 million jobs created or saved in a three year span. These reports also do not include numbers for jobs that might have been created by subcontractors or suplliers further down the chain.

Jsmog Snap Poll 10/27/09

by Jsmog
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 01:23pm Juneau Smog Blog Post Permalink Blog Post Trackback Read/Leave Comments Juneau Smog Twitter Retweet Jsmog Snap Poll 10/27/09

Our last poll “How often should Jsmog.com display new polls” posted almost a month ago received “seven” responses, 4 of which said there should be daily polls. Although daily polls would be great, with only seven responses in a month, we will have to get a lot more responses before we can start putting up daily polls.

Our latest poll has to do with what you think the US Senate should do if a final Health Care Reform bill is brought to the senate floor without a Public Option. Support for a government-run health care option is gaining ground in the Senate and could be included in the final bill. However, a version of the public option that is looking like it will make the final bill has a provision that allows states to “opt out” of such a program if their governor or legislature chose to do so. This Public Option “Option” may satisfy both liberal and moderate Democrats while not driving away others, in order to reach the 60 votes it needs to advance the legislation without a filibuster. Our poll asks what the Senate should do if a public option is not included in the final bill at all.
