Conservative RNC member James Bopp Jr. is circulating a draft resolution listing 10 positions Republican candidates should support if they wish to have party backing. The resolution calls on the Republican National Committee to end funding and endorsements for any candidate who deviates from three or more of the positions. RNC chairman Michael Steele will now have to choose a side between those who would expand the party ideologically and those more concerned with conservative purity at the next RNC meeting in January.

Reagan In Name Onlyby JsmogTuesday, November 24, 2009 at 12:03am
This is too much. OMG! The Republicans are now trying to get Ronald Reagan kicked out of the party by invoking his name even! So frickin hilarious. Not only would Abraham Lincoln have been long booted from the party awhile ago, but now they’re trying to kick their hero, Ronald Reagan out on his ass.

Fox News Made Their Bed, Now Sleep In Itby JsmogMonday, November 2, 2009 at 05:39pm
I don’t think there is anything more hallow than listening to Fox News cry about the White House claiming they aren’t a real news agency. Three weeks ago White House Communications Director Anita Dunn appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources and said:
“The reality of it is that Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party. And it is not ideological… what I think is fair to say about Fox, and the way we view it, is that it is more of a wing of the Republican Party.” Media | Fox News | hypocrisy | tea-baggers | View Comments |

Where Do Our Premiums Go?by JsmogTuesday, October 6, 2009 at 04:12pm When insurance companies are paying over half their profits for lobbyist and legal fees, that’s obviously money not going to provide benefits to policy holders with their health care bills. Because of their lack or regulation they legally have the right to hike up their rates whenever they want. Because of this their membership rates are down but they are still able to make huge profits off less customers. In three years the profits of Wellpoint, the nation’s largest health insurance company, went up 90% while their memberships rates were down 3%. Netting $2.5 billion in profits last year wasn’t enough for WellPoint. Now, WellPoint’s affiliate, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is suing the state of Maine for refusing to guarantee it a profit margin in the midst of a painful recession: Media | corruption | Fox News | health care | insurance | public option | regulation | right-wing | View Comments |
