Four awesome Democrats in close races

  • Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts, the Sheriff of Wall Street who could seriously become President of the United States someday if she is able to pull out a victory on Tuesday;
  • U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin, a member of Congressional Progressive Caucus who is looking to become the first openly LGBT candidate ever elected to the U.S. Senate;
  • U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio, who is running the largest Democratic campaign that operates exclusively in the uber-swing state of Ohio, and who was also a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus during his time in the House of Representatives;
  • U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy in Connecticut, the real Democrat who can finally replace Joe Lieberman in the U.S. Senate and finish the job the progressive grassroots started nearly seven years ago.

Each and every day that I’ve been a United States senator, I’ve been discussing issues … in secret meetings with kings and queens and prime ministers and business leaders and military leaders talking voting working on issues every single day.
Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) says he holds daily secret meetings with kings and queens. Favorite part: A spokesman “did not immediately respond to clarify the remarks.” (via think-progress)
Senator Brown has been very reluctant to accept a debate schedule with Elizabeth Warren. Until now the Senator and his staff have refused to even meet with Elizabeth Warren or her campaign to discuss debate invitations, or dates, or terms for debating. However, finally, this week Scott Brown said he would agree to a televised debate with Elizabeth Warren under two conditions. And he said that if his conditions weren’t met, he wouldn’t do it. His conditions are:
1. That the widow of the late Senator Ted Kennedy not make an endorsement in the Senate race. Seriously, that’s one of his demands.
2. Scott Brown also demands that MSNBC be removed as the host of the debate. Good thing MSNBC was never going to be the host of the debate. They had never been contacted nor invited to do anything with any Massachusetts Senate race debate. If anyone has been contacted it was the local television affiliates in Boston. But Scott Brown DEMANDS that MSNBC not be the host of the debate!
Well, at least demand #2 is super easy to fulfill because I seriously doubt MSNBC is now going to run over to Boston and try and muscle their way into a debate hosting gig they never had in the first place simply because of the paranoid delusions of a crazy person who actually sits in the US Senate.
But unfortunately “Scott Brown scuttles debate with Elizabeth Warren after Vicki Kennedy rejects senator’s precondition.”
